Become a Contestant

To become Miss Southwest Michigan, requires personal commitment, hard work, and ambition.

To compete you must -

Be between the ages of 17 and 25.
Be a United States citizen.
Live in the Greater Southwest Michigan Area.
Haved lived in Michigan for at least 6 months.
Have never been convicted of a felony crime.
Be in reasonably good health to meet the job requirements.
Be able to meet the time commitment and responsibilities.

Phases of Competition

There are four phases of competition for the Miss Program.

Interview counts for 50% of a contestants score.
Evening Wear counts for 25% of a contestants score.
Swim Wear counts for 20% of a contestants score
On-stage question counts for 5% of a contestants score.

Job Description

If chosen as Miss Southwest Michigan you will be expected to be a role model, an ambassador, and a public relations representative. You will be expected to be a confident and physically fit young woman.

Responsibilities will be to -

Follow local, state and national contracts.
Have an open, working relationship with the Executive Director and Prep Team Advisors.
Be on time.
Create and complete all paperwork and projects.
Participate in speaking engagements.
Participate in public appearances.

The following items need to be included with your entry form.

$100 Entry Fee
Copy of your Birth Certificate
Proof of Residency
